About community lenses
Users of the ARDC vocabulary service have reported uncertainty about how to make an informed choice when selecting a vocabulary for a particular purpose. By partnering with researchers, informaticians and infrastructure providers, ARDC is exploring an approach to help people answer questions like
- How do I know which vocabulary to choose?
- How do I know if a vocabulary will suit my purpose?
- Who else uses this vocabulary?
The prototype guide covers Earth and Environmental Sciences, and is maintained by the National Earth and Environmental Sciences Facilities Forum (NEESFF). We are calling this prototype a "Community lens", as it is created and maintained by members of a research community, and provides a domain perspective on information standards.
