definition | Distribution: This family consists of 26 genera and around 600 species that are distributed
throughout temperate, subtropical and tropical areas of the world. The highest diversity
of this family is found in Asia. In Australia there are 8 genera and 47 species, 14
of these naturalised. Description: The species within this family are monoecious, androdioecious or dioecious trees, shrubs or climbers, evergreen or deciduous.
