Pollen Morphology: The pollen produced by this family are very variable in shape, but a key shape is spheroidal inaperturate. The size of these pollen grains vary, however for inaperturate shaped grains they are around 50um in size. The apertures found on these grains are also variable with some being inapertrate, tricolpate or tricolporate. Inaperturate grain types have a gemmate surface texture while tricolpate and tricolporate types have variable surface textures.
