Centre for Remote Sensing and Spatial Information Science (CRSSIS), School of Geography,
Planning and Environmental Management, The University of Queensland (UQ)
This former centre was renamed the Remote Sensing Research Centre. It was part of
the fomer School of Geography, Planning and Environmental Management. The school taught
undergraduate and graduate programs in remote sensing and image processing, while
the centre’s doctoral students and research staff focused on building remote sensing
based tools for understanding, monitoring, modeling and managing terrestrial, coastal
and atmospheric environments. The centre’s research was used directly in operational
monitoring by local, state and national environmental management agencies.
