definition Distribution: This genus consists of c. 90 species found across Malesia, Australia, New Zealand, Polynesia & Chile. In Australia there are 7 species (6 endemic) that are found in NSW, VIC and TAS.

Pollen Morphology: The pollen produced by this genus are rounded triangular in shape, although their outline is slightly convex with slight indentations/depressions at the pores. These grains are 25-30um in size and have 3-4 narrow slit-like pores which extend into short thin furrows. The surface texture of these grains is slightly scabrate.
