Most grains are tricolpate and are rounded triangular in polar view, while some are pantoporate and sphaeodial. The majority of the taxa in this family are tricolpate, with the depth of the colpi varying but usually moderate width with no sculpturing on the membrane. The membrane does not protrude markedly. Some grains are pantoporate.
